Xaash-tâ: The End...
[Non-canon text now]
…
Xaash-tâ, Emperor's Fury, Sword of the Empire, Conqueror of Planets, Dark Lord of the Sith and now Empress for 14 days, felt empty.
Empress. A title that is not joking. Great responsibilities, many topics, endless possibilities. After the Emperor's departure, the whole galaxy was worried thinking about Imperial policy, Vitiate's successor. The Dark Council had been preparing for a revolt by the great rulers for the throne, and perhaps also a civil war that would follow. But when the Hand of the Emperor spoke in front of Kaas City, there were no more doubts, no more worries, no more turning back. Xaash-tâ, Fury of the Emperor, would reign in turn.
Long live the Empress... They had no idea...
When she was younger, she dreamed of ambition, of climbing the impossible ladder of the Empire, but when she saw herself Empress Xaash, she smiled and descended from the clouds. The last time she had seriously thought about it, she must have been 12, and she had no idea what the responsibilities were. And for the short time she was already in power, she was doing well. Polls showed that the population trusted her far more than her predecessor, and many liked her. Tags in the middle of the street celebrated his arrival, and the night of his speech was a party like the Empire had never seen. Xaash had been named unannounced, but knew how to speak unprepared.
But today... 14 days later, his reign was about to end.
Remulus Dreypa. A familiar name to history buffs. One of the original twelve Sith, having discovered Korriban after the Hundred Years of Darkness. Disowned by the Jedi, his group—consisting of himself, Xoxaan, Karness Muur, Sorzus Syn, and their leader Ajunta Pall—settled on the Red Planet and formed its sibling descendants.
It was known that Dreypa had a rival among his people: Karness Muur. Also, to get rid of him and his talisman, he created the Oubliettes. An Oubliette, forged by Sith sorcery, was designed to keep its host alive and conscious, locked in this coffin, for eternity if need be, until its eventual opening. An Oubliette had been created for Muur, but was useless as he died before he could rest there. Another had kept Dreypa himself locked up, betrayed by his family.
It is unknown how many he had created, but Xaash-tâ had found the blueprints. Old scrolls, weathered by time, had allowed the Sith to have her own Oubliette made...with just a little modification.
She had talked about it with her brother, whom she had just seen. It was an idea she'd had for over a year...since she was on her own. Emile found the idea interesting, original, and had promised to speak to the Dark Council only afterwards. Together they would find a replacement.
One evening, while Kaas was sleeping, Xaash entered the basement of the Citadel, and discovered the Oubliette, finally completed. His little Polis Massans engineers had followed his orders to the letter and were keeping the secret... of the Empress's departure.
The great underground hall was empty except for this coffin of technology and stone, resting on a platform. As the light of the two moons passed through a loophole between the wall and the ceiling and illuminated the room, Xaash put his hand on the cold and rocky shell of the artifact. He was perfect.
The night was quiet, the room was silent, and the woman began to think about her crazy life. From orphan to Empress, from dark side monster to... whatever she had become today, from loner to...
His friends... Jahnelthra... Andrax... he missed them terribly. If they could see her today. All her life she thought the Empire was her family... but in fact it was them all along.
At this moment, a small lizard having crossed the loophole slipped behind the Oubliette. Xaash smiles. But what had she with the lizards ? They followed her everywhere...
She stood there, standing in front of her artifact, for at least a good half hour, silent as death. Then she settled into the Oubliette and stroked the two small words carved in Old Sith on the sides of the slot for her head. Two words that would stay by his side for the duration of the trip...
"Andrax" and "Jahnelthra".
She pressed the button down, and as the lid came down, she put her hands on her stomach and closed her eyes. In the morning, a small group of droids were programmed to send the Oblivion into space, then their memory would be erased, so as not to leave traces. The stone capsule was to hold her in resting stasis, unlike Dreypa's prisons. Xaash was preparing for the longest night of his life. Drifting into infinity, leaving the galaxy, guided only by the Force. This was how she wanted to leave. Between life and death. Touch one without letting go of the other. Like a princess, asleep without expecting a prince charming, for all eternity.
