So… Does this thing work? …Ah, it's good… Let's see… Erm… yes, that's it. Hmmm... let's start again...

[Takes a deep breath.]
Hello. My name is Tommas Ryptide, I am currently at the rank of lieutenant and work for the Imperial Secret Service as a field agent, sniper specialization. I've been a lieutenant now… one year, one month and twenty-four standard days. My service number is…wait…8425167727.
This is my pre-career and personal life report, as you have requested from all the agents in my section, which I will submit in due form tomorrow, one week before our psychological meeting. I am a chiss, male, 29 years old, 1 meter 78 centimeters and a half, 76 kilos, black hair, long, face not damaged by the war, and I am single… and I digress from the questionnaire…
Then… 'Travel to the academ...' Yes! So… I entered Kaas City Academy when I was 10 years old. Class 301-Jenth, if I remember correctly… propaganda option, then in second year, sport. Three years later, I come out first in all events, except in sport and language. As the primary and secondary years progress, I improve, and I obtain a mention in doctrine. Then I decide, by personal choice and perhaps family, to direct me in information. Besides, I serve every other month at the front, Aurek division on Ryloth and Quesh, then Dorn on Raxus II... not in combat of course, as assistant cook and ammunition delivery. At 14 I returned to Kaas permanently for six years, studying to enter the SSI.
At 20 I was taken, and I started professional training with class n°01... also nicknamed...
[Long hesitation.]
… no nothing… Then a confidential two-year internship, as you can imagine, and at 23 my sniper training was finished. Then… what did I do…? Ah yes, training for almost two years in the field and at home, enough to make the weakest completely paranoid... and at 25 I finally officially work for the Secret Service, with all that that implies... personal ship, crew, the total. But with the missions to come, I doubt that I will have the time to work alongside them often. And then three years later I was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
'My hobby'…well, my job…to protect and serve the Empire.
[Sounds of what appears to be a chair moving backwards against the hardwood floor, followed by feet landing one after another on a table.]
I… often need action, so the combat, the excitement, even in sniper, is something that I consider… essential. I chose the sniper specialty mainly because of my results in the subject, from the beginning of the academy… I also like to work in music… when it is allowed to me, and I recently discovered a small passion for torture and gathering information on captured enemies… Otherwise alcoholic beverages, in moderation of course, and… all the little pleasures of life…
[Laughs briefly.]
…sorry.
[Seems to get up to pace.]
...'Family history and youth'... Yes. I was born on Hoth, the outer rim frost planet, Hoth system, Anoat sector. My parents were both in the army. They met on Akelon VI. My father was a private soldier who never rose above the rank of second lieutenant. My mother was a spy and assassin, sniper of course. None worked for the Secret Service. They quickly fell in love when my mother saved my father on the battlefield. I was born some time later, when the Empire sent them to push back the Republic lines on that rock of ice and snow. Lo and behold, one fairly calm morning, in an imperial outpost "isolated" from the cold, a little chiss was born.
I never stayed there very long. A few weeks when I was a kid, and a few missions from time to time. My... "nickname" at the academy was "Shadow of Ice", in homage to my unusual birth... A nickname that I never really approved of but which remains correct.
It is true that the Empire still has progress to make in the area of its internal fight against racism. Regardless of the outcome of this battle, I'm allowed to admit that my first years at the academy were...difficult. They say that chiss are vicious beings that pop up behind people's backs and always have a dagger handy...and they're not wrong. But the degree of loyalty does not depend on race. Not for intelligent species at least.
...And I'm still wandering...
[Sigh.]

My father passed away when I was 17. Balmorra, shot in the chest. My mother was executed by a Jedi on Coruscant four years later. She had been spotted in the middle of spying. With all their parental teaching and advice, I was able to fend for myself on Kaas after they left, and continue my training. I didn't mourn them for long, but they were good parents and they did their moral and parental duty better than most.
'Cooperations'. I had the opportunity to train myself over the years alongside many talented agents. Some much less, some are unfortunately no longer in service. Let's see… There were agents Desmont, Dawston, Shaddy, Triga, Eocast, Beldorn, the two moreover, and also Procht, Buccaghmass, Sav he was nice, rest his soul… Dag, Walzu, Gosti, that dreadful Fonnek. Who else… ? Hecoty, Pillus, Major Eda, rest his soul… Uh… what was his name…? Jep'songh. Poor Jep'songh also died. Agents Gloomsberry, Caner, Japee or Jaypee, I never knew, Zelldakk, Lioth, Menke, Hunter, Ygmid, there have been so many… The lovely Ahrdda… and then there's this guy… a real talker… Kyle Küiper, with whom I start a series of missions. The list probably extends to another dozen names…
And my crew consists of unofficial agents Djannis, Hyllus and Temple. Poor doc, Lokin, died recently.
I also work with droids all the time, I don't know if that matters to you… I like them. Faithful, fast, discreet, precise, replaceable, some even play music. I own about twenty models...
'Number of…' Yes, my killcount, what… I must have between 800 and 1100 kills on my account so far. I do not count.
Next. 'Drink preferences… only for ranks above Colonel…' Well, that doesn't concern me…

…Nebula Whiskey, thank you.
[Sigh.]

And finally… 'Other personal/professional details to be specified'… Not much else… Call me Ryptide. I don't like the name Tommas, it goes back to my childhood, only my parents called me that, everyone calls me Ryptide here. I prefer.
Thank you, doctor… Laro…

Doctor Laro, Doctor Laro…
Laro Laro Laro…
[Sounds of holographic keyboard tapping.]
Oh...Pretty. Hmmm…
[Long silence, seems to be reading.]
Hah… Doctor Laro… 'Enlarge image'… There.
…Very pretty.
Hmm… Alright.

Thank you Dr Laro! Good luck with all those reports, hope it makes it easier for you. Have fun !
Ryptid, finished.

[Partial silence. Sounds of sheets turned over, drawer opened then closed, partial silence, chuckle, partial silence.]
See you next week...
